question
My son is 16 months old but very active in comparison with other kids of same age group.  I would rather say hyper active. He is constantly busy in playing running jumping and all physical activities. While this is really great, the problem is that he does not concentrate if we try to teach him any poem or anything because he don't sit still at all. It is only that first 10 minutes after he wake up from sleep,  when he sits at one place and listens to us. How should we deal with such kid?

It's his age group and nothing else. You can not make them sit at one place at this age. You need to give him interesting early learning or any activities to keep him busy for 2-3 min and then gradually you can increase this span...say 5min and later 10 min. It's a procesa. Don't expect him to have lot of attention span untill he becomes a preschooler. Poems and all you can sing with your bub before he goes to bed! So that it directly goes to his subconscious mind.

my son is also same.. you need to concentrate him on what he actually likes considering his activeness. my son lived coloring, making block (he scatter it everywhere) and then assembling in a place using a big box by throwing in it... <br> other activities could be sand play, water play, call etc.. <br> find what he is more interested in and create activities around it...
