my son is six months old.... At the timw of birth there were certain complications... he didnt cry soon after birth.... he was in the nicu for 20 days.... he gone through partial exchange transfusion and had neo natal seizures at day 6.... he is on anti convulsions at present...Since then he has not got any seizures.... he is healthy looking ... smiles,laughs,cries,screams but he has no control on his head.... his body is floppy and he hardly remains on bed and does activities.... he loves being carried....How can i make him active and help him reach milestones... I m very worried.... What should i do....
hi anon,babys who have gone thru nicu treatment needs early intervention some times , but it's not necessary always. but thing which is important is going for regular checkups from your pedetrician in case there is early sign of any problem so that it can be rectified and corrected in time.if your baby is active,reaching milestones in time, there is no issue. I am not clear exactly what is your babys problem at present but my suggestion is always check with your pedetrician and donot hesitate , because early years of development of babies who have spent time in nicu. eventful need proper examination n care if required .however many babies have no issues and nothing is required,but it's always better to do best for your apple of eye... take care :)
