Hi moms I am sharing my experiences that I had regarding grooming nails for my baby.
For the first time after birth, Tashya was born with nails. My husband has bought a small nail cutter which is preferably used for new born babies. As I was on bed with c-section my cousin who is also a doctor by profession has cut nails for my baby.
Then for the second time I was not that sure whether I can do it properly or not. A fear that I may cut her skin. So again to my rescue my cousin had did it. And one interesting matter is I have saved those nails for future. Those little nails to a small baby. They are very cute.
After that I started grooming nails cutting nails to my baby and it has been going well till now. Actually during new born baby we used to cut only when they sleep. So that they will not move here and there. I think it's the perfect timing. Slowly I would catch her hand and cut each nail carefully such that she should not be hurted.
When the kids are like toddler they will understand everything so you can guide them why to do these nail cutting. Ofcourse kids may not be interested also. Even my my kid will not allow me to cut her nails. But by engaging them like singing rhymes or songs numbers and what all they wish to you can make them sit quiet and cut the nails.
In the evening as we sit in the balcony with fresh air she will be in good mood then I can give her a good cut. Otherwise also when she is enjoying her favourite rhymes in the television. We should wait for a good time otherwise they become cranky and doesn't allow us to cut their nails.
Now my Tashya always plays in the park with sand and some of the dirt definitely goes in to her nails. Soon after coming I will give her a bath or atleast wash her legs and hands so that dirt goes away and we can keep her away from dirt going in to her mouth.
She has the habit of sucking fingers. So I will make sure always that she should be clean with hygienic conditions.
So mom what do you think of nails grooming to your kids. Share your experiences too.
