My three months old dd has started sucking her thumb.. Though we keep her mittens on all day but she puts mittens in mouth n when we try to take her hand out she cries.. Last night I gave a miss to mittens thinking hands shud get remain free n when I woke up she was sucking her thumb n sleeping..

At 3 months it's way too early to try to get the thumb out.. she's using it for comfort.. you can try pacifier too, though you'll later fight to get that habit out.. I would suggest that with time kids automatically choose to stop sucking finger but that will take Way long time but that's the better way.. just let it go on its own.. thumb sucking is difficult to wear off.. but once two or three or so you can put Femite on the finger if the habit persists.. now it's for comfort, just let it be at that

agree with shruti, this is very much normal, and is part of development... babies explore with their mouths, nothing to be worried about... just give something to hold, something colourful, different textures etc

Sucking thumb is very common in infants... distract her from that by playing or giving something else in her hand... Don't keep always pulling the thumb out ad she might get irritated and concentrate more on doing so.; Just distract....
