My wife has been diagnosed with diabetes during 7 weeks of pregnancy. HbA1C test result is 10.2%.;
Doctor are saying that diabetes was pre-existing and not gestational and there is possibility that we have to discontinue with the pregnancy. Is there any cure for this? What shall we do now?

You can always share your complete report why Dr would have advised to terminate the pregnancy is because diabetes affects your baby's development and weak 12 week 14 are very crucial for baby development hence there is a 60% chance of conceiving a baby with anomalies in your case with the 10% HB a1c speak to senior gynecologist and then take the further course of decision respect to the age and is it your first pregnancy or it is a second pregnancy resetting upon that you should meet your gynecologist and get one ultrasound then which will detect the abnormality is do not worry after the decision has been made you can start with folic acid tablets that will again help in conception as well as keep your sugar level low below 5% as in about the HB 1C test

I have tagged our expert, however would suggest you to meet an endocrinologist too and take a second opinion before you go ahead with any decision...
