Once upon a time,; There was a young girl,; The first in three generations,; Apple of everyone's eyes,; Even if she as much as sneezed All hell would break loose For her one smile,; they lived.
Once she wanted to fast,; The elder ladies were so proud For lunch, her grandpa came As was the custom, The first morsel was fed to her He called her out, she came; To him she looked feeble Someone proudly said she was fasting Oh! That was a day to remember; How his fury unleashed!;; Like never heard before in the house.; Such was the love for her Envied across the town.;
The Day came..; She got married.. Left her loving abode with dreams in her eyes..; But not all dreams manifest into loving reality,; The new home did not much care for her Made her work all day and night On a single chance she would flight But the society was not kind She has younger girl cousins,; they said Who would marry them,; if she stayed back.
Alas!; She had to go back to the hell for the same plight.;
With all the physical and mental abuse She bore five children, her muse Her children were her world,; she was their #Shakti For them she withstood the demons Alone for years and years But her strength; did not weaken She stood like a mountain For and in front of her children Amongst; the adversities She made sure they shine bright Of all the darkness,; she was their light She burned herself,; to make them fly Gave them wings to touch the sky
Her labour paid off Good days seemed quite near But God had some other plans Her body couldn't bear the toil of so many years Now when her children were able to do something for her Her body was bed ridden Even then she still sparked the ray of hope and courage Her feeble smile, witness of all that she had beared She is the epitome of shakti who empowered others despite being trampled upon Trodded by feet she still gave birth to plants to rise on She is the true Lakshmi,; Kali and Saraswati Indebted to her are the lives of so many.
