With the achievement of forever tag “MoM”, brings the happiness plus certain experiences attached to it. For others, its the sounds, giggles and cries but for mom it’s lifetime memories. And as no lady is born mother, many things are for the first time clap where NAIL CUTTING is one of them. For some it can be a dreadful experience or for others, it can be mesmerising but for me, it is THE EMOTIONAL ONE.
It was Day 3 when I get back home from my normal delivery with my baby and while getting discharged, I was instructed by the nurse to groom the baby’s nails as it was not too long to be cut in the hospital. For not to be attempting that cumable task, I agreed enthusiastically but when I reached home and heard people throwing their advices about anything and everything, one of them was for nail cutting where my mother and mother in law exclaimed to try their bit to cut my baby’s nails as it was generations for them to did this.
Then, there came a dilemma and it was not only dilemma but n number of dreadful questions started to strike in my mind: Whether they would be able to cut them? What If they would hurt my baby? What If she started crying? What If it would get deep? and bla bla bla..
With deep intruding of questions inside my head, I decided to do it myself. Because I couldn’t let my baby in the unsafe hands as I am one of those moms who don’t get convinced easily. So, I and my baby was alone in the room and she was sleeping. I touched her little pinky cotton fur hands, exclaimed “OM NAMO SHIVAE” and started it off. One of my relatives advised me not to use the weapon for my tiny bub and to do it with the finger only as the first nails are so soft to be cut with your hands only. So, I tried it.
And what! I was successful! Yes! I made it! I literally had tears in my eyes that I did it without anybody’s support. I kissed her hands and hugged her for being so calm that she didn’t even moved a bit and helped me to achieve it. Yes! It was the first achievement for me.
I exclaimed with joy to everyone that I had done the needful and my mom and mom in law patted my back for this. After that I had learnt that nothing is impossible for a mom to do for her baby. From a pin to sword, she is the safest warrior playing for her baby.
And until today, I am doing everything and anything even If it’s for the first time, without anyone’s physical support for my baby as I already have my husband’s YOU CAN DO IT support every time with me. ♥️
Now, I cut her nails even when she is awake: *By diverting her in singing, talking, reciting poem etc. *carefully locating the edges of nails so that she won’t get hurt. *Magnifying my own eyes to indicate the exact target ⭐️ *for new borns, cut it while they are sleeping *try not to use nail cutter for the first time as the nails are too soft to be cut with your hands only *Don’t make them over excited to avoid the nicks and cuts
