Nail cutting?? When we think of nail cutting in babies the first thing that came to mind is fear, whether m able to do it or not.In the initial months cutting nails in babies is a difficult task, but as baby grows it becomes a little bit easy.
A new born has little control over his flailing limbs and can easy end up scratching his own face.Little finger nails grow so fast that you may have to cut them several times a week.Toe nails require less frequent trimming. The best time to cut nails is when baby is sleeping.Another good time is right after bath, when your's baby nails are softest. But be sure that you have enough light to see what are u doing.
Use a pair of baby scissors or clippers made especially to use on tiny fingers.Cut the finger nails along the curve of the finger.Cut the toenails straight across. Then use an emery board to smooth out rough edges. Some parents bite their baby's nails into shape, but doing it this way could introduce germs from ur mouth into any little cut, your baby may have on his finger. After cutting nails,a little dirt remains left,so u should follow the cleaning process.Firstly gently grasp ur baby's finger.Wet the clean toothbrush in warm water n gently work the bristles against the dirt.Rinse the toothbrush n repeat as necessary.Make sure the toothbrush that u use on baby's nails is not the same one that u use in his mouth.
If u cut a fingertip then simply rinse the cut under cool water, then wrap a tissue around ur baby's finget and hold it with a little pressure. The bleeding usually stops in couple of minutes.
In my case cutting nails of Vyaan was easier. In the initial months i used to cut his nails when he was sleeping. Now i simply asked him that i have to cut ur nails,he sit close to me n allow me to do this.
