Nausea, vomiting, and morning sickness are the most commonly heard words during pregnancy. Where nausea is quite common during pregnancy, controlling it with anti-nausea medication is not advised by most experts.
This does not mean that you have to live with it. A few tips and tricks to control nausea during pregnancy include:
- Smell freshly sliced lemon.
- Drink some warm water with a small piece of ginger or cold ginger ale.  
- Sip in non-caffeinated peppermint tea.
- Add protein-rich foods to your meal as they help fight nausea as compared to carbohydrates and fats.
- Avoid having spicy foods and foods that are starchy.
- Avoid sleeping or taking a nap right after the meal as it can lead to nausea.
- Do not drink too much water during your meals as it can make your feel full and worsen nausea.
- Keep a habit of having smaller meals or snacking periodically over healthy food options. (seeds, nuts, salty crackers).
- Avoid being around string smells as it can trigger nausea.
- Keep a habit of practicing breathing exercises, especially in the morning to curb nausea.
- Identify the trigger for your nausea and make sure you avoid it.
- Acid reflux or acidity can also lead to nausea, so avoid foods that can lead to acid reflux.
