. . ❤️ NO SCREEN TIME! REALLY? ❤️ . . #mishmummasays#BBCreatorsClub . Completely oblivious of his surroundings, the little bespectacled boy seated at the restaurant table beside ours was fixated on his phone. Except for the occasional reminders to have his food, his parents seldom bothered to engage in a conversation with him. “No! I don’t want,’’ is all he said raising his voice, staring at his phone unperturbed! . While my little toddler screeched with excitement at the high chair brought for her that was in her favorite colour, armed with an equally favored dinnerware, I did my best to distract her from noticing the boy. For someone who has never had any screen time, she finds it amusing when she notices other children engrossed on phones. A very common sight when we step outside. . It is one of those things I feel she is better off without and it has definitely helped her enjoy the other ‘real things’ completely. Also I can’t deny how it’s been way easier considering she has never been exposed to the magic world of screen time. She just doesn’t know about it and hence doesn’t ask for it, except when she spots kids glued to phones - I get asked a zillion questions which I patiently try tackling. . At the moment, her biggest fascination about phones is restricted to clicking pictures and taking videos because she watches me do the same with her! 😅 Each time I take of her’s, I need to patiently let her do the honours too! 🙈 And I like how she is getting better at it! ☺️ . We seldom watch our phones while being around her. We occasionally do show her videos of the people she adores and have those much anticipated video calls with the special ones! So she doesn’t really miss the fun after all! 🙂 . I know how things in moderation are fine. I am also confident how she will learn the ropes of being tech savvy in this day and age, so it is ok even if she doesn’t start early 🙂 . Each to his own! Motherhood definitely makes you thick skinned and no matter what you do, you will be judged - something I have been reminded time and again! But we stick to what we want to do and let people talk! 🙈 . . . Share with me one thing that you have fiercely stood by irrespective of the judgements.

@616ed03aacbcc10013b425bb it felt as if someone is speaking on my behalf!! Agree with everything you said!! No matter what you do, you will be judged. One thing that I can proudly say that I have fiercely stood by irrespective of any judgements was... Not giving cerelac to my daughter and giving only homemade food. No dal water or rice water, but watered down daal and mashed rice. No cow milk before 1 year was introduced for her. Got to hear things like... Hmne bhi bachhe paale hai, aur achhi tarah se paale hai. My daughter appeared thin, so people even were concerned if I was giving her food properly or starving her😂 U won't believe, one lady asked me, don't feel bad, do u give ghee to your daughter, she is so thin... I replied... No, actually I finish up all the ghee so nothing is left for her.
