Rice

I get to hear this question always while consulting

Will rice make you fat? I always say No.

Let me explain you why rice will not make you fat .

Rice will not lead to weight gain if you eat it at the right time and with right combinations. So if you are a white rice eater then let me tell you that white rice is a fast carb. So if you eat it with lots of veggies & dal/beans with some good fat ( I prefer a little ghee ) then the sugar release will be slower. Calorie wise there is not much difference between brown & white rice, but nutritionally there is. But if you are someone who has digestive issues & cannot tolerate brown rice then you can definitely opt for the white one with the right combination as white rice is easily digested.

But yes brown rice retains more fiber so you end up eating it less as it promotes satiety unlike white rice.

same here... hardcore roti eaters!!! still we make rice everyday...but white for us and brown for baby!!!

hey thnx foram! i avoid eating rice for dinner for many <u>many</u> years now :) but i get rice made everyday even though we are essentially roti eaters :)
