Okay so here comes my first question regarding my daughter, From yesterday she is only on BM and touchwood she latches perfectly and my BM is also good. She takes 15 mins to 20 mins from each side and then sleeps for next 2 to 3 hours, Is this okay? Or should I keep waking her up and force feed?

Thankyou Sonali I have started to write down whenever I breast feed and how many minutes and sides. Let me see how it goes.

Rebecca in the first fifteen days it is best to complete a minimum of eight feeds per day. As at this time babies are still learning about feelings of hunger satiety and how to get their food. In the womb they are used to being fed constantly and hence may not awaken for feeds. Also in the first few days many babies have physiological jaundice which is fairly normal but can make babies very sleepy. Once baby crosses the first doctors visit and the weight gain is on track then switch to on demand feeding.
