one of my frnd delivered day b4 yesterday. her due date was 9 july but doc asked her to get admitted on 8th july saying that vagina has started opening but u aren't feeling labour pain so better get admitted so that we can keep an eye on ur situation......
what does it mean actually? y did she got admitted if she didn't feel pain but vagina was dilating? I didn't understand this. and on 9th july she delivered with c-sec. if vagina was dilating then y c-sec happened.

it means cervix is dilating which can cause pre term delivery or membranes may rupture.. so to avoid these consequences doctors usually advice to admit early if cervix is dilating.. and might be her cervix was not dilating more or fetus may be distressed so she gone through c-sec to deliver baby with no complications.. exact reasons can be explained by her doctor itself..

she could have dilated without contractions initially..difficult to say why csec was done as we dont have any details. why dont u or ur friend discuss this with the gynec. there would have been some reason or urgency.
