One of the places that you must take your kids to atleast once, is a zoo or a national park.
Some time ago, we took A&A to Bannerghatta National Park and it was an all together different experience for them. So far they had only seen a cat, dog and a cow in real. So watching a tiger was ofcourse quite thrilling for them 😂. They were not just excited but over-excited, so much so that at one point Mr. A even wanted to go and touch the tiger. 🙈😂 . Frankly apart from being fun, a visit to a zoo can be a great learning experience for kids. It's a good way of letting kids know about different concepts - right from the names of various birds/animals to what they eat to the entire idea of a habitat, being caged or free.
For A&A, they kept asking us all sorts of innocent questions like what does a tiger eat or why is the ostrich in a jail (read enclosure) and we had to be really creative and careful with our answers. Their curiosity and excitement simply had no limit.
We went on a Sunday and the entire place was super crowded. And so we realised we could have planned and prepared better. However kids had a great time and it made the entire visit worth it. . Sharing a few tips here from our experience. In case you plan a trip to zoo with your kids, do keep these in mind- 🔹Avoid visiting such places on a Sunday or a public holiday coz they are usually over-crowded. 🔹Try to buy tickets online. It saves the entire time of standing in queue, etc with kids. (We spent almost 1 hour just to get the tickets.)😑 🔹Green places are usually cool. Even if it's sunny it's cool, atleast for kids. So carrying a pullover or light jacket is always a good idea. 🔹For young kids, avoid strollers or prams coz zoos usually do not have a smooth terrain. Prefer baby wearing instead coz that’s more convenient. 🔹Needless to say carry your own eatables, water, sanitizer, extra pair of clothes/diaper etc depending upon the age of your kid. .
