One thing all of us have to tackle in our daily routine is temper tantrums by our kids. No matter how old they are. Toddler or Teen. They are all just the same. They might show it in different ways but the start and end is always the same. And its sometimes difficult to handle my child's tantrum especially when I'm focused on doing a different chore or I'm working on something. The struggle is real but I always try to remember just like my little guy needed help learning to tie his shoes or brush his teeth, he also needs help learning how to manage his anger.
I'm sharing some of the tricks that have helped me stop a temper tantrum from turning into a crazy battle between me and my son.
1. Normalize all emotions (Including anger)

2. Be proactive, not reactive (Be Understanding)

3. Give them a lifeline (Stay calm)

4. Explore their triggers (80% of the battle is won if you know what triggers their tantrums and avoid them in the future)
Think about helping your child deal with anger as a journey and not a destination. Kids will need ongoing support and teaching to cultivate healthy relationships with their emotions, especially complicated ones like anger.
Please do share some of your tricks that have helped you calm down your child. #MommyTakeover
