Do you think Indian parents so possessive of their children, even when they become adults? What would you do as a parent?

Very true. But possessiveness should not be confused with over protective nature. I would follow my Mother footprints. I would be definitely be possessive for my little angel but would respect her opinion as well.

agree... we r possessive.<br>
we always want them to be composed and controlled and with that we r ruining their childhood.... our childhood was awesome, because our parents never cared so much, and so we lived it to the fullest. but now as the time has changed many things had become worst like the crime rate.. and that makes us over protective.

We cannot generalize this by saying Indian parents becoz all Indian parents are not possessive. But yes, there are many parents who are possessive of their children. One good example is my mother in law. She still controls her both children, my husband and my sis in law. She is very possessive of them. If she finds out that its me who is responsible for their bad mood then I am in trouble BIG TIME. But I dont care coz I cannot change anyone. I just try to learn from all this that in future I should not go to an extent of being possessive and over protective of my child/children. I think we should guide them properly instead of being possessive or over protective.
