Rice - 1 cup

Toor dal/ Masoor dal - 1/4 cup

Salt - To taste

Water - 3 cups

Coriander leaves - Few
๐—ง๐—ผ ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ

Ghee - 2 tsp

Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

Garlic - 4 to 5 finely chopped

Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Carrots - 2 no's chopped

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Asfoetida - 1 pinch

Pepper powder - 1 tsp
๐— ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฑ

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธWash the rice and dal. Allow it to soak for 20 minutes.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธMeanwhile take a pressure cooker and add the ingredients mentioned under 'To temper' one after the other by sauting.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธAdd the rice and dal. Saute for 2 minutes. Add salt. Mix well. Add water and cook for 4- 5 whistles.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธAllow it to cool and open the lid when pressure releases.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธGarnish with coriander leaves and with a dash of ghee.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธDone.

๐Ÿ“You can add veggies of your choice to make it more healthy.

๐Ÿ“Can add 1 to 2 slit green chillies while tempering. If added, you can remove them while serving. Adding 1/2 will not make the kichdi spicy.a

๐Ÿ“Can add a tsp of chilli powder too while tempering.

๐Ÿ“If making for babies, cook for more whistles. Open & mash it well.
