#mommytakeover First time I traveled with my little one was when he was small tiny 21 days old baby and it was longgggg train journey from Bangalore to Delhi. We were travelling by train so it will be more convenient and comfortable. My parents were with me so we could manage him well. His first flight trip happened when he was 4 months old. I won't say it was a cake walk and it was not easy as well. But he was good he enjoyed his flight exploring the surroundings.
And then we had many flight trips alone just him and me and we started enjoying travelling together as I knew how to handle him and how to plan. Then came our first international trip to Singapore which we went as family hubby me and kiddo but only me and kiddo had to travel back which was a challenge. We had to deboard and board again cha he flights and handling 1.5 years old is a BIG task. I took him around showed him things. My baby was happy and he slept in flight. Next we took a step ahead, when he was about to be 2 years old mumma and baby planned a US trip to our relatives place. Here we went all by ourself 21 hours long journey - changing flights at airports and walking long ways at international airports to find terminals all scared me before our trip but we sailed it through. Key points when you are traveling with kids: Reach airport / station much before time and roam with your baby so they know their surroundings and that way they tend to get less cranky.
Take assistance from your airways as they help you skip the queue and also assistant is provided if you are traveling alone with child.
Plan and book flights around their sleep time so it will hassle free.
Feed while taking off and landing.
Keep their medicines handy
Carry their favourite toy / crayons / colouring sheets / books to read them or show pictures.
Tablet or phone should be fully charged in case you need to show favourite videos of your child to keep him occupied.
Ready to eat snacks so they can munch on it.
Book bassinet seats when travelling with infants on international flights
Ask for baby food in flight as they will have pureed /pulpy food.
Keep extra pair of clothes / diapers
Carry stroller / pram along with you.
Hope these are helpful to you all.
