#Perfect Parental Burnout
Parents do get exhausted from their work and managing routine..
One of the risk factors that parents never consider is their need to be perfect or their desire to be seen as perfect.⁠⁠


⁠⁠

This is complicated and it will take more than a quick caption to truly capture how perfectionism can lead to burnout (although I’m sure you can imagine).⁠⁠

⁠⁠

Here are a few things you can start with:⁠⁠

⁠⁠

1. Ask yourself what purpose your perfectionism serves (i.e., do I feel good when I’m acknowledged?)⁠⁠

⁠⁠

2. Ask yourself where/when/how this started and where it was learned (i.e., achieving good grades got me out of the hot seat in my stressful home life as a kid).⁠⁠

⁠⁠

3. Ask yourself, “What would it mean if I weren’t perfect?” And follow-up with “What would it mean if someone I love wasn’t perfect?”⁠⁠

4. Do you have the same expectations of yourself and of others?⁠⁠
