Pongal Recipe

INGREDIENTS
1 cup rice
½ cup moong dal
1 teaspoon ghee
1 teaspoon Jeera
¼ inch ginger grated
Curry leaves 1 sprig


METHOD
Soak rice and moong dal for half an hour.
In a cooker, heat the ghee.
add the jeera and let them splutter
Add the grated ginger and curry leaves and sauté for a minute.
Add the rice and dal
Add 5 cups of water
Allow 4 to 5 whistles on medium flame.
After it cools, remove the curry leaves, mash and serve.
