childhood is all about fun and; masti you won't see kid sitting idle for long they want to do one or other thing so that they can entertain themselves. In my childhood the only source of our entirtainment was Doordarshan as cable was prohibited in our house and to us it was fun, we used to watch even south Indian movies, that's other thing we don't understand even a single word 😆. And if you have watched Doordarshan you are very well aware of the fact it was just about educational type stuff resulting into I was only student in my class who knows most of bizarre things in this world. For us watching a latest movie was luxury n Thursday is the only day when you can watch cartoons on TV. So I spent most of my free time reading books Nandan was my favorite even I used to sit and read my course books specially literature that was the time when I developed hobby of reading; which is still my best time pass nobody asked me to read in free time but their was so limited options so what to do 'chalo reading hi Kar le' 😉. That's why my reading is quite fast and; i can finish most of the books in 2-3 days (if it interests me) and my enhanced; vocabulary.
You never know which seems to you as a trival step; will help him so much in future. It's OK to get bored some times then only he will use his creativity and know his real interest. try to inculcate a good habit and that also should not be forced but inculcate, it should come from within, then only it can give your child real happiness.let him use his brains that's why we have different brains na, may be he could think something better then us, something out of the box. I think this is real mantra of raising a happy human being, things should not be imposed but it should come from within so that it can give multitude of positivity in life.
And now as a parent I am applying this same philosophy on my kid I never force him to do anything coz that will suppress his real being, now we don't have Doordarshan in my house but educational stuff is still there so he watches it and without any force he is learning new things spontaneously and he is enjoying it. His alphabets are his best friend, it is a possession he wants to flaunt to everybody in house and; reason of his smile. 😊

Books open a new world in front of us...it takes us to another level of imagination. Awesome post. N I will remember this when my baby will be able to understand books and will explore surrounding 😊

Wao..ur mantra for raising a child is so good..👍 actually everyone should follow this becoz wat comes from within is wat actually a child wants to pursue..NO PRESSURE should be emposed..will follow this wid my baby too.. INSHALLAH..n I too have reading habit..same pinch..😉
