Post delivery a mother faces many challenges, and we all know the list is endless! Being forced to eat things one hates, bear with nosy relatives and acquaintances and their not so scientific "free advices", constant sleep deprivation, fear of being a new mother, doubting own efficiency if baby has a reflux or indigestion or mild fever or is just crying without a reason. One such dilemma is to use diaper. Believe me when I say it wasn't easy to convince people at my part of the world when I used diapers (disposable) for my son soon after he was born. Why Diapers are a blessing to new era moms? Being a first time mother isn't easy in itself and its appalling when someone asks "I hope your baby won't soil my clothes". Its just a baby who doesn't know anything beyond crying and smile in dreams (of course, as mothers we forget and don't mind our baby's peeing, pooping, puking etc.) My son is a winter born baby and the place where he was born, the weather is cold and humid as well. It was utmost necessary to keep him dry and warm and the best option seemed to me was a disposable diaper. Atleast this littlest thing on earth could sleep sound when he had a diaper on! Why to choose Skin friendly diapers
My husband and I both have attended prenatal classes where they teach you to tie diapers on babies, there we werre given Pampers premium care diapers & I still use those. They were so paper thin and light weight, didn't have that plasticky texture, instead they're blankety soft, mentioned hypoallergic and claimed high absorbing power with a lining of baby oil it claimed... there are significantly lesser or no episodes of diaper rash or allergies. What else a mamma to be needs more!!!🤗 While you go to purchase next diaper set for yo ur Baby, try to have all these points in check list. When should a diaper be changed Many of my mom friends asked me how I get to know that my baby's diaper was full...in my case it was much easier to tell as these diapers come with an indicator, but the thumb rule is to change diapers every 3 -4 hourly to prevent discomfort in babies. Diaper mention size and this yellow indicator which turns blue when wet When to start and stop using diapers There's no specific age limit to start or stop using a diaper. Its all about convenience!! You can start using diaper for your baby from day one or can use them only when you take them out of home. However, one can start minimizing the use of diapers when baby is able to communicate when he/she wants to use the bathroom. First signs to start potty training is when your baby stops wetting the diaper during the night hours! What types and sizes are available There are two types of diapers available in market these days: 1.Traditional design
2. Pant style It is as per the mobility of your baby and their size that you can choose from these designs. While pant styles are easier to use when baby becomes a toddler, I juat started using ones sent to me as sample by @pamperspremiumcare by #pampersarabia Diapers are categorized as per baby weights (I never knew this until I started purchasing them post delivery) as size 1, 2, 3 and so on till baby is around 18kgs. So you're the best judge you choose right side for yours. They are available for ages from new born till the age of 3 years. Necessary tips to know if bigger size is required: 1. Diaper starts to leak
. Baby has redness or marks of diaper elastic or strap on waist line and thighs after removal of diaper What measures to be taken to prevent a diaper rash or allergy Diaper rash is one of the most scary event a mother could imagine as it makes babies very cranky and helpless. To prevent so, Keep the baby skin in that area as dry and clean as possible.Give ample open time. Clean your baby during every diaper change either by wet wipes or washing with water
If baby has soiled the diaper by poop, then always clean with mild baby soap which has disinfectant properties, dry up the area and then tie a fresh diaper.
Always apply a thin layer of anti diaper rash cream in the diaper zone. happy parenting guys!
