Quick Tips;

All of us love to see our house clean and tidy. With kids and toddlers it's never an easy to clean up...it's a mammoth task and can take away all our time in a jiffy....I just wanted to share a few quick tips that I follow on a daily basis to keep up with.;

Clean up as you walk.;
* Carry a cloth with you that you can use to clean up your furniture, as you walk around your house running your errands, just run the cloth over the furniture to wipe out any settled dust. You can always do the detailed inspection once a while.;

Avoid clutter.
*Postponing is the sweetest part, I used to do this a lot. Guess what a lot of clutter and piled up jobs to finish. Massive 😫😫.. So always keep it short and quick.;

Do you use newspapers!!;
Most of us use newspapers to spread on the insides of the shelves. A big No!! Newspaper ink and cellulose in the newspapers attract insects specially cockroaches and silver fish. Instead use old clothes like bedsheets or dupattas or may be even towels under clothes. For kitchen use bubble wrap that comes in all the packages in our couriers or parcels from various shopping websites. I sometimes use the carton boxes by cutting them out, specially in dry areas of the kitchen.

Cooking/Baking
Spread a plastic sheet or a news paper while chopping vegetables and or baking. This will avoid any mess on your platform. Keep a plastic box handy in the kitchen near your sink lined with a polythene so that you dump any quick waste.;

Silver and Steel
Silver articles look dull and no shine...try Colgate powder. Simply wet the silver article rub the powder leave it on for 5 mins and then wash it off with water and a mild detergent.;
Steel utensils looking old, try Sabena powder with a diluted liquid dish wash.;

Bad odour.;
Getting rid of smell from used utensils, when we cook fish and eggs is tough. Try this trick. After you have cooked and transferred the contents. Leave the dish to cool. Add lime juice, dish wash liquid soap, water and put it back on flame. Let it boil. Remove from flame let it cook, throw away the liquid in the pan and wash with dish soap...;

Leave few cloves in between clothes or sarees, keeps them smelling good and insects at bay.;

Leafy vegetables.
Wrap the leafy vegetables in an aluminium foil after cleaning up the roots etc...they will stay fresh longer. Specially spinach, Sarson, Amranthus.;

Quick trick.;
Line the bottom of the box with tissue while pouring in daals, rice etc. When it's time to refill, all you will need to do is remove the tissue wipe dry. Replace the tissue and fill it up. You can choose to wash at every 2nd refill.;

Use dry orange peels to ward off insects. Boil water and drop the peels and let the steam fill your room or else burn a coconut shell until the flame is put off. While the shell is red hot, add haldi, garlic peel and orange peel. Works great, keep the doors closed for a while and then you can open up to let excess smoke escape.;
