Reading a bedtime story to your little one!

How can you really start off with reading a bedtime story book is by choosing a nice story that isn’t chaotic or has too many characters. A small story with fewer characters which will pull your child into its arms and thereby making him/her sleep at the earliest. Also look for a good moral in the story, little ones learn everything you tell them. Do not end a story that has a sad ending.

I have had started doing this ever since Simra liked listening to stories. She gets so involved in it, her eyes goes dreamy and imagines every bit of it with so much joy on her face. This reading and telling a story helped her falling asleep early unlike other odd talks. Sometimes books don’t really work...it’s our skills in telling them a good story that has a plot and ends with a great message.

How to get started with reading or telling a bedtime story :
1. Make a relaxed and soothing atmosphere by switching off the lights, get into the blanket and start off
2. Find the books that are of your child’s age group (if you are telling a story choose a small story which is understandable to your child)
3. Try to get into the character, this really makes them enjoy the story
4. Having a regular read or telling a story regularly is a good way to start making them more imaginative
5. Go on slowly with a lower tone, let them sink in the story and atmosphere of the room
6. End the story with a good message (basically a happy ending)

This is Simra’s favourite ‘Snuggle’ soft and comfy book which is her forever favourite read almost everyday, on other days she listens to stories that I build up for her😁
