My jhanki is for the North East India. I have showcased only 4 pics in the picture as it was otherwise getting clumsier but would mention quite other facts also. Kamakhya Temple - it is one of the Shaktipeeth. Sati ma's yoni is said to have fallen here and the entire range of hill turned blue. Hence the name Nilachal Parvat. This temple celebrates fertility. Every year in June, 3 days of abstainment signifying the menstrual cycle is held here. The temple doors are closed. In fact, all temples on the Land of Assam are closed for these 3 days. Tantrics from lands far off come here to attain siddhi during those 3 days. Ploughing is also not done during these days as Earth (dharti) is one of her manifestation.; It is said that the royal.family of Coochbehar cannot enter the premises as they have received Shraap from Maa Durga herself. That is the reason that Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur Royal family doesn't enter Kamakya temple because she is the princess of Coochbehar. There is a saying that whoever enters the Nilachal Parvat (on whose top Kamakhya temple is situated) from South will be mortal. If you see the winding roads leading to the temple, the entry to the road is dead south. Kaziranga National Park - it is the only sanctuary in India which has the famed endangered species of One Horned Rhino. But sadly, due to the medicinal properties and high demand of the horn in the neighbouring country China, poaching is excessively prevalent bringing the numbers down every year. The best time to visit the sanctuary is November to March. During the other months, it is closed due to floods. Mawlynnong - the botton right picture is a village in Meghalaya by the name Mawlynnong. It is conferred with the title of Asia's Cleanest village for several years now. Living Root Bridge - the bottom left picture is of the worlds largest known living root bridge. This bridge is also located in Meghalaya. The Khasi and Jaintia tribes of Meghalaya have made these bridges by hand using the roots of the trees. In India, it is found in North East only. Wettest place on Earth - Masyngram is the wettest place on Earth again located in Meghalaya. By tgr way Meghalaya has a matriarchal soceity Assam Muga Silk - this is a type of silk produced by cocoons unique to.Assam. hence it is solely produced there and has the geographical tag in the name itself. Jal Mahal-; Once the king of Tripura visited Rajasthan. He was so impressed with the Jal Mahal, that he ordered a replica to be build. Hence a Jal Mahal also sits in the middle of a lake near Agartala Tawang Monastery - located in Tawang of Arunachal pradesh, this Buddhist monastery is the largest in India, and second largest in the world, after the Potala monastery in Lhasa.
There are many such places and facts about the North East but some other time. Will sign off today with this. It is the only part of India which Moghul could not conquer. They came time and again but lost to the Ahom Dynasty. Do let me know if you liked it..
