TRAVEL IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC!!!
Is it safe to travel during covid?? Is it safe to travel with a toddler?? Are the restaurants/ hotels open??? These are the most asked questions I got during my Drive to Dandeli
I would say, No doubt it is risky to travel during these times. *Stay home and stay safe!!*

However if you still want to breakaway from daily routines for few days then with precautions and some good planning one can reduce the risk and still make it to the most awaited vacation of the year. Here are some tips we followed.
⭐ Road (Car) vs Air
In this current situation we preferred taking a road trip rather than any other mode. As it drastically limits contact with others.
⭐ Avoide interstate travel
To avoid interstate travel restrictions, we decided to travel within the state. We also avioded popular vacation destinations and after some research finalized on Dandeli located in western ghats.
Dandeli is mostly forest area with upcoming resorts and homestays. It is nearly 500kms from Bangalore and took us about 9 hrs to reach.
⭐ No outside food
With a toddler travelling with us, we chose to carry home food with lots of snacks and beverages. We started 6 in the morning, stopped only once and had lunch in the car. Again no contact at all with anyone.

⭐ Selection of resorts
To reduce contact further we chose weekdays (Monday to Thursday) and stayed in a homestay of a well known family friend.
⭐ Stock up
Sanitisers, disinfectant spray and mask are something you would want to carry more than you think you will need
Tips:

Petrol - always full tank to reduce number of visits to fuel station
Fast tag - No contact and quick pass through tolls
Masks on - Wear mask even if you roll your car window down momentarily to interact with anyone outside
Wash hands frequently
Use sanitizer
Maintain social distancing
Avoid crowded areas
And with all these precautions, sit back, relax and enjoy your trip with family/friends.
