#slayfitmama Have you given a thought to your posture today? In the target scheme of things we usually neglect something tiny but extremely essential as our body posture. The next time you stand in the kitchen, at the bus stop, while talking on the phone or basically just about any where, just observe your posture. You will most probably notice you are leaning on to one side or you are putting more pressure on either of the feet or your knee or your back is arched or your shoulders are hunched. Which ever it is, none of these are good for the body. Over time we are creating a perfect recipe for all kinds of aches and pains. So what is the correct way to stand.

Called tadasana or sama sthiti in yoga, it shows the correct alignment of the body muscles. These are the tips to remember to maintain good posture while standing-

1. Stand with your feet hip width apart.

2. Let all the four points of the feet be firmly grounded, this will ensure equal distribution of weight on the feet.

3. Don't bend your knees, but keep them active by keeping the legs straight.

4. Keep the spine neutral. No arch.

5. Keep shoulders away from the ears. Mindful practice will help in ingraining this habit. Stay healthy, stay happy :* @sonam patel @asha chaudhry @Priya Sood @Meenakshi Bhargav @Sheeba Vijesh @Aradhana Sharma @Sumira Bhatia @Foram K Modi

ps- You don't really have to hold your hands in the namaskara mudra each time you stand :D This was taken as part of a yoga shoot amidst the blissful beauty of Coorg. I hope to achieve this mental peace everyday!

Completely agree @63729cb62338f60015eaef4c ! Tadasana is the perfect posture. I have recently developed pain on one side of shoulder which I attribute to nesting phone in between shoulder and ear while muti tasking. I am consciously avoiding this now.
