So today I was talking to a friend of mine who just delivered her baby and she told me "my baby isn't bonding with me, I feel there's a kind of distance" .

It's very important for a newborn to bond with the parents because that makes them feel safe and secure. It's a big transition for them to enter this world. Some babies bond instantly, while some might take some time and that's completely okay there's nothing to be anxious about. Instead we can do a few things that will help in bonding with our little bundle of joy

In some cases, baby has to stay in the NICU and so mothers can't meet them much, so it takes time to bond. In some cases it's a painful delivery or a C-sec which is very exhausting and becomes difficult for the mother to give attention to the baby. sometimes there is not enough support from friends and family .But calm down, relax! That's your baby, bonding will happen, its just a matter of time

Here are some things that I did to create my bond with baby V :

♥️ BREASTFEEDING: Try to do it if possible, I don't need to mention the benefits it has and there is nothing more than can bond baby and the mother

♥️ RESPOND TO THEIR NEEDS: If the baby cries, try to find out the cause of it. Don't believe in stupid lines like 'phephdey khulte hain', there is a reason to it and if you respond to their needs, that's enough to bond with them

.

♥️BE WITH BABY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE: Rest is important and during that resting period, look at your baby, be with your baby as much as possible

.

♥️ CO-SLEEPING: We co-sleep with Vaanya and it has many advantages when it comes to bonding. Although be careful if you are a deep sleeper and also read the guidelines about co-sleeping

.

♥️BOND WITH VOICE: Sing and talk to them (they won't understand ofcourse). But they would know you. Rock them, hold their tiny fingers .

♥️ MASSAGE: I had a C-section, but I made it a point to massage vaanya with my mom's help. I would do it gently, just so she knows "that's my mommy" .

♥️BABY WEARING: I haven't done this personally, but many of my friends swear by it and I have started doing it now n I love it. I use @luvlap.in elegant carrier
