Soon Soon will come the Monsoon!!

Children jumping on puddles in the rain and beautiful smell of wet soil while enjoying tea with pakodas and samosas outdoors⛈☔

Yes, we might like it or not but Monsoons are here to stay!Like everything alive even monsoons have their pros and cons.Pros of course being breezy and beautiful weather whereas the cons might relate to your health, especially children as they are weak on their immunity.

.

⛈During Monsoon season the humidity level is quite high in the atmosphere which could lead to fungal infections, rashes, allergies etc. Sweat leads to more rashes. So try and keep your child’s body sweat free by giving regular baths, using suitable prickly heat powder as it helps in keeping body dry and rash free. You can also keep rose water, Calamine and Calosoft lotions handy for keeping the skin cool and rash free.

.

⛈Try and dress them in pure cotton loose clothes as cotton tends to absorb sweat and lets the body pores breathe. Change their clothes twice or thrice a day as damp clothes tend to aggravate infection.

.

⛈Try and eat clean and fresh home cooked food. Avoid outside food, especially street food as flies and mosquitoes are on a major rise these days and eating this food might lead to infection.

.

⛈Keep yourself and your family hydrated by consuming loads of liquids. This will keep your body cool while lowering the risk of getting any allergies.

.

⛈Monsoon brings about breeding of mosquitoes, insects, ticks, lice and a lot more. Apply mosquito repellents / creams on children to avoid mosquito bites. Save guard your family from mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria or chikungunya. Applying mosquito repellents/creams on your baby’s skin or using a mosquito net will help avoid mosquito bites.

.

⛈Another risk that Monsoons bring in is the risk of water borne diseases like Cholera, Typhoid, etc. because of consumption of contaminated water. Drinking boiled water is perfect for your child and the entire family as it kills most of the disease causing pathogens. If not then one can opt for water purifiers available readily

⛈Keep yourself, your family and your surroundings safe!
