I remember once my hubby was telling my girl.. ( My hubby sometimes will be teaching her things which is not required i feel.. ) He was saying... stomach is in the middle of the body..if gas comes up..it's burp.. down it's purrrrr.  My baby was repeatedly laughing and saying the new acquired knowledge. I was cooking that time..and I was like...... ???? what's going on???

....and so i said...a burp is air from our body...and a farts isnt a burp..its just different ....i bursted into laughter!!!

that is a smart question!!
