* The Amusing Tale of My Second Pregnancy *

Thinking about adding a new member to the family is something that people frown about these days very commonly. Single child policy is on the rise undoubtedly and there are many reasons for this. Most mothers say that they feel complete and don't see any purpose in adding another child to the family. I used to be the same party person who felt my life was perfect with my boy, who is now 5. However, I changed my mind down the line. My husband and I discussed one fine day and gave go-ahead to having a new tiny member. This was some 7-8 months ago. Since then we had been trying, but every month, my menstruations were throwing water on the wish of having another baby.  

Then suddenly one day, one of my school friends broke the news in our WhatsApp group that she was pregnant and in the next two months would be delivering the baby. We all congratulated her and even taunted her for hiding the news so long. We all were single child mothers before, however, her pregnancy divided the group into two companies; one who thought (and still think) that there is no point turning the wheel again. And another party had people who hesitantly admitted thinking about the second child. Obviously, I was in the second party. Our common interest and target made all of us discuss massively the SECOND PREGNANCY. 

Each one in our mini subgroup discussed their desire of having the second child and problems that each one of us was facing. The common issue finally got concluded, and it was super busy husbands. Each of us had the same issue that husbands were so occupied in the work that they were not ready to try much and do the deed frequently towards having another baby. We also discussed what could be other possible causes of husbands being indifferent (other than work). 

We (the subgroup members) then started having regular discussions on how to entice husbands for having the task done, how to behave more romantic, how to schedule the sleep of the first child and how to spend quality time with husbands despite their busy schedules. It was such fun to listen to different ideas given by mothers who are in their mid lives and think they are still as young and experimental as they were in 20s. Each of us also decided to set the target to get pregnant before this year ends. One of our friends took the responsibility of calculating the ovulation period and eventual the most fertile days. We all shared the asked details and she gave us the days which she found most fertile.

Now I was on a mission starting from August 2019. MISSION SECOND BABY. As per the most fertile dates given to me, I informed my husband that we were supposed to get the task done, anyhow. He made fun of it, however, I wanted to execute my mission being really serious. We were putting efforts already but with no luck. Still, I was able to get my husband's time only once in the month of August. He has been carrying a really tough and ambitious office project and has been working really hard day and night. Hence it was not fair to force him for something which needs both the partners to be absolutely willing. Hopeless, I was waiting to see what would happen to my periods. 

And guess what, I missed them! It was such a surprise to not bleed crossing my period dates. I was still not much hopefull so I waited for one more week before I finally did the home pregnancy test. Then I got the test done and for the second time in my life, I saw those two pink lines. My target of the year 2019 was achieved. It was no less than winning a battle. I communicated my mission status in the group of my friends. Perhaps I am the only one who succeeded in the objective. I am so grateful to my friends who collectively led the target.  I would also like to thank the year 2019 which was quite a journey towards getting hopeful for my next bundle of joy. Each of my family members is happy and looking forward to seeing a new baby joining the gang in the next 5 months.
