The Good Dinosaur is a 2015 animated movie, which although does not live upto the Pixar towering standard, it certainly has the advantage of a laudable story. It's quite an appealing and family-oriented fable and is based on the question: What if the asteroid missed Earth completely and the dinosaurs had never become extinct?

Considering this to be an average movie, Pixar wonderfully captures how life ensues after the dinosaurs see the passing asteroid in the night sky. The story takes us on an adventure where Arlo, the Apatosaurus befriends a valiant & energetic caveboy and the hardships they face together after Arlo has lost his way home. Amid breathtaking landscapes, storms, encounters with the friendly T-Rexes & carnivorous pterodactyls, Arlo confronts his fears and realisation dawns upon him by virtue of his father's guiding soul.

There are many prehistoric movies for kids, but The Good Dinosaur certainly does the job of good story telling for kids as well as adults.
