The High Chair

I wanted to write about this for quite some time but have been really busy with Athu and I was waiting for the right time, 9th September being a grandparents day I thought this is the time to do..
This is about my Father in law who is 69 years old, Though he got retired from his hotel management line he continued to work till now. His income is really not necessary for the family as both sons are settled and they get pention, house rents, bank interest etc. But my Father in law wanted to be active and earn, He is working for a security company called Nissa Security Office as a collection officer. He has to travel all over Mumbai to collect cheques from big offices and buildings, there are days he will come home drained out and tired but nothing could stop him, He still takes bus and trains not auto or ola.

He wanted grand daughters from the time we got pregnant.. loves Tamara and Atarah very much, they both have a huge collection of toys bought by him. When Atarah turned 6 months old he asked me what he should get for her, I wanted a high chair so I told him I need one. He asked me to buy online and he will pay me by cash... I immediately checked out Amazon and got a beautiful orange high chair in a good offer last month.

He always gets his salary after 10th so I did not ask him the money, while my mother in law was doing house expense budget with the other extra income (rent, pension and interest) she kept 3k aside to give me but my father in law stopped gave 3000 from his salary and said " I want to gift my grand daughter from my hard earned money" I was really touched by this behaviour of his... I will tell this high chair story to Atarah when she grows up. They have given her gold, cash etc but this "High Chair" will always be cherished.
