Before my selection in Infosys, I got; rejections from a couple of software companies. People would say that as you are not getting selected anywhere else you should try to find a job in teaching. I may not be 100% right but I think few of you people would relate with this. Does not matter how teachers are an essential source for our development throughout our life, teaching is a bit underrated profession... At least in engineering colleges, student think that;;;; are yeh Kya hame sikhayenge, Kahi Mila nahi to yaha agaye...

We need good trained, well mannered, well educated people in the field but on other hand we don't push our children to be in the field.... I don't know of anyone who has a dream of seeing their children as a successful teacher...
I am not saying that teachers these days are not qualified for the profession but those who really can flip the current situation are not interested in it at all..
For example, when my husband got an offer letter from one of the reputed government petroleum company, he had to go to whole body checkup even the psychological one...and the reason for that is, work structure of this company was very hectic and they don't want someone who succumb to the pressure of any kind, which will lead to his mental collapse or something more serious....
It wasn't completely necessary but they have it...why don't we have such high standards while selecting teachers...because we don't give much importance to the profession....
They must know the behavioral aspects of a child as much as they know; about their respective subjects...
My mother in law is a Montessori teacher and my brother in law is a primary teacher in a typical indian village, where except teaching they do it all!!! Distributing voters card, getting statistics before every election, they work day and night for the things other than teaching...and when it comes to syllabus completion they lack behind because of no time ....they have to rush for everything and then frustration comes for not doing what they came to do....
On the side of Children, parents these days are so protective, they don't even realize their child's mistake.... Children can't take a NO for anything....

Their ego is a big time issue...
Whatever the matter is we must have that relationship with them so that before taking any step like this they must at least feel to share it with us....

Teacher are the ones who are building the nation. Building the entire generation. We need people who have passion for teaching and not the ones who land in teaching because they could not get anything better.

Very few times you get to see that satisfaction in their eyes...not only relative our whole society is built like that.... We need our child to get a good education but on the other hand we don't bother about those who are responsible for giving the good education...

@6372c1453f31520016a69ec3 ; I can understand your words...as my husband says the same thing every time we have discussion on this... He had worked as a teacher in engineering college for 3 years before joining IIT...and the first most reason to get out of that profession was that he was so disheartened with the system itself...he once told me he won't resist here for long... He had set question papers for 3 years for University students of engineering when he himself was just a pass out student....being a regional board student I completely agree with you on that part!!!
