Things I did to GET BACK MY MOJO!

I will cut to the chase and share what I first did to get back into shape (physically and mentally!). A lot of credit goes to my husband who supported me and looked after my childoo when I was working out or out of the house!

1. I joined zumba three times a week and never bunked.
2. I always smiled and laughed and sang along the songs that played.
3. I started swimming again.
4. I said A BIG NO TO JUNK FOOD AND DESSERTS. In all fairness, my hubby supported and though he has a sweet tooth, he stopped bringing desserts home.
5. We cancelled our membership of a 5 star where we used to enjoy the unlimited buffet every Sunday!
6. I started hanging out with a couple of friends over weekends. We’d do movie night or girls’ night out or simply grab coffee together once a week. We’d shop together. We’d get the kids (1+2) together and her maid + both dads would supervise while we let our hair down.
7. I started looking for more online opportunities. And became very active on social media (which is actually how I eventually got my new career as a community builder).
8. I made a list of my skills and what kind of jobs would be the right fit for me.
9. I reached out to all of my old advertising friends and told them I’ve started working from home. I started getting lots of freelance assignments.
10. I looked for some jobs in Goa but unfortunately I didn’t find anything suitable for my years of work experience. It sucked but I continued to freelance from home.
11. This may sound stupid, but I made sure I visited the parlour once a month so that I didn’t look like a train wreck all the time 
12. I started driving again. With the windows down, the music pretty loud, and the breeze in my hair.
13. I started buying clothes that were not mommy clothes.
14. Over the next 12 months I lost some 13-14 kgs. I felt alive. I finally re-discovered my mojo!!
15. We didn’t have linkedin back then, but now I tell all moms to update their linkedin profile and set a jobs alert. If you are looking for part time, work from home, flexi hour options, sign up on Sheroes, SquadRun and similar platforms.
