Yes this 42 days restriction by tradition is just too much. In odisha also we have 21 days. Yes it was meant for hygiene purpose. But today times have changed so the cultures and traditions too need to b upgraded and all oldies should start downloading the new 21st century versions of the traditions in their brain if they haven't already . Come on! hygiene doesn't have to mean confinement at all i feel. What say?

Mental illness is in itself a big problem for the person going through this coz nobody understand what he is actually going through. For that person sometimes death seams to be better option then his life which is worse then hell. And if it is about mental illness ppd should be include in this coz for mothers sometimes situation become so worse that they want to cut off from world and baby too. Spcly in Indian scenario where in some places mother's are confined to one place fir 42 days in one room where she is left alone with kid and not allowed to go outside.
