This is very close to my heart, please do read🙏 We have been brought up by listening and looking at our parents, elders at home and siblings and cousins. We felt so secured and safe in that particular environment. The bond we share with our parents is priceless, can't be expressed in words.
I want to raise my daughters in the same way.
Wanna be their BFF with whom they can express their feelings, share their talks, dance and party with them..yayyy...
But have you ever thought how this bond is made? Listening is that form of art which shows the deeper understanding of what your child is talking about and vice versa for them.
When you are having a conversation with your child, you should:
1. Encourage your child to open up with you
2. Just be a patient listener while your child is expressing his/her feelings
3. Respond in a positive and sensitive way
4. Also focus on their body language to understand their non verbal communication.
"Listening is an art that requires Attention over Talent, Spirit over Ego, Others over Self." By Dean Jackson
Benefits of having a healthy conversation and listening to your child:
1. Strengthens the bond
2. Give them exposure and develops their effective social skills
3. Makes them confident and build self- Esteem.
4. Provides a sight to their emotional sight.
5. Improves language and communication.
6. Makes them feel important and understood.
7. Helps in exchange of ideas and sometimes they have far better ideas than us. (You know this generation😛) With love
