*Cloth Diapering*

I saw many moms enquiring about cloth diapers lately, so I thought of sharing my experience with you all.

I have used 3 different types of cloth diapers-

1) Cover Diapers
These are waterproof covers and are used with an insert where the insert is in direct contact of skin. Can be used with disposable liners too. There is greater chance for leakage with these type of covers.

2) Pocket Diapers
These are just like a diaper cover but has an inner absorbent lining attached. It has a pocket opening which allows u to put an insert into it for extra absorption.

3) All-in-one Diapers
As the name suggests, these are one piece diaper that consists of absorbent insert stitched inside the inner lining of the Diaper.

Now there are many types of insert available in the market, most common are-

1) Microfiber
These are light and fast drying but quite bulky. Microfiber should never be placed against baby's skin as it tends to pull in moisture and dry out the skin.

2) Hemp
These are much softer, more comfortable and most durable.

3) Bamboo
These are soft and super absorbent, keeps baby comfortable even when wet.

4) Cotton
Most common, and known to all.

For me, All in one Diaper with an extra bamboo insert works best. You can select as per ur requirements. Cloth diapers with inserts can soak up to 3-4 hrs or 4-5 hrs depending on the type of insert and frequency of pee. But for small babies it is recommended to change after every 2 hrs.

So, cloth diapers do need one time investment but can be the best choice for ur little ones. These are soft, free of chemicals, environment friendly, can fit from birth till 3 yrs and are really cute.

Go ahead mommies.. Happy Cloth Diapering.

If u have any doubts or questions, pls feel free to ask me.
