It's a late night post but was really disturbed with this so thought of sharing.
I was taking to my mom... She lives in a remote area of Bihar... There are so many villagers nearby our house who are poor and their children starve. When I was a small kid I used to play with them... There was one such girl who is now a mom too. Today my mom talked about her daughter. She is 2+ years old and weight is just 8 kgs... I was shocked to hear. I asked my mom whether she has talked to any pediatrician or not. Mom said she visited one yesterday and the pediatrician inspite of giving any suggestions was angry on her that the weight is too low... Now my concern is they are really poor... Although she does every possible thing for her daughter...but they can't afford a good doctor or good medical facility... So, now what can b the solution? Or is there any way we can help? Need suggestions for her...

My mom herself is in government job which provides vaccines and meals to children under 5 years... Pregnant ladies too are provided with cereals and proper medicines... But in this case only a pediatrician can suggest what to do...
And I can arrange with a group of doctors as one of my cousin is a doc too in the same district... but he's not a pediatrician... he visits the village every Thursday for treating people... He can arrange but yes for this we require funds and a proper time... Only one person coming forward won't help... let's see what can b done.
@6372d8dd17d2c800158d9008

You can form a group of known people (pls include me too) and they can provide any kind of help they can and you can make sure that it reaches the right person as ur mom is there to look. we can also check for health care volunteers who can go to that village and provide some basic medical facilities.

I feel sad and pray for such less privileged. Here we are complaining at times about our issues and in some places in our country survival is a struggle.

maximum villages are full of such cases even metro cities... I've seen many such cases in Mumbai...many such families live in unauthorized houses next to railway station tracks...some under bridges... it's really a good point @61321b91c71eba0013440537 but if you think about the few ppl you know and want to do something for them you can by helping them in some manner.... i used go in slum areas of Delhi and volunteer santization, basic health, education awareness programs when I was in my teens...I grew up thinking how to help more people but my circle increased every year and so my thinking..... personally I've learned on large scale poverty from India is very tough to go as our government is not supporting and everyone is not contributing enough for their growth...ppl who wants to do something are doing and they're managing..... I'm born poor is not my fault but if I die poor is definitely my fault....I believe to help ppl with education and knowledge to make them ready to earn their livelihood....one of our relative spent entire life selling vegetables on rikshaw and they managed to give dowry to 3 daughter's marriage and made their son...today he bought his own house and working in RBS with 25lac annual package...such ppl are examples
