👶🏻TIPS FOR FLYING WITH INFANTS 👶🏻
We're back to Mumbai😊And my baby took his sixth flight (domestic) in ten months. Yayyy. Everytime we have to fly, I am always scared thinking how I would manage to keep him at one place for more than two hours. And touchwood, each time this baby makes it easy and fun. So here are my takeaways from all this flying with the baby.
.
.
🚼 There is no need to give a painkiller before flying. If the baby shows discomfort in his ears, wait for sometime. They would get rid of it by themselves. If the discomfort doesn't go away, check with the doctor before giving any medication.
🚼 Putting cotton in the ears don't really help. We started doing this since his first flight and most of the times the cotton pops out. And it doesn't make any difference.
🚼 Try to book the front seat in the aircraft which would give you more leg space, especially after the baby starts standing.
🚼 Keep his favourite toys handy. Pick toys which can keep him busy for a longer time.
🚼 Don't let the infant nap before you board the flight. If he is tired, he will sleep for quite sometime during the flight.
🚼 Feed while take off and landing. The sucking motion helps in relieving the discomfort due to changing air pressure. So breastfeed, bottle feed or a soother, all can be helpful.
🚼 Carry extra diapers, wipes, set of clothes in the diaper bag. I would suggest prepare a checklist of items you may need and keep them handy. Be ready for diaper blowouts or the crying spells.
🚼 Strollers can be used right before boarding and you can get them back as soon as you disembark the flight. This helps a lot while at airport to move around. If your baby doesn't like strollers, you may try babywearing.
