Tips to keeping in your kids safe on Social Media Our life as a mom bloggers is like an open book and we often share many details about our everyday life and kids in general. It might seem like I'm just sharing something with you that's common sense, but don't forget it impacts your family. Our primary job as a parent is to protect our kids from the things in the world we don't want to think about.
I am too a party of these mistakes and i am learning from them. Sharing some of my key points/ learnings for internet safety for kids. 1. Always keep a check on who follows you. I know its a tedious task but its important to know who is following us. 2. Always Watermark your photos. Watermarking photos can deter people from reposting. You would not know who is using your photo , in which country, therefore better to be safe. ( am gonna follow this everytime now) 3. Don't be specific about GeoTags - This one can be really dangerous if not used properly. These geotags leave a trail of pins revealing your daily routines or hangout spots and therefore easy for predators to follow or stalk you. Even if you have to share the location under any circumstances do share it when you have left the place. 4.Never ever share information about your child's school. Pictures of their first day in school dress, waiting outside the school to pick them up, these information can put child safety at risk. 5. Don't Check in - It's easy to think "what's someone going to do with this information?" But there are people that are willing to lurk and cross the line. You want to stay one step ahead of them. Face the reality and never check in to an exact location. 6. Keep in mind your Child Privacy- Don't post pictures while bathing , or any embarrassing moments that can impact your child when they grow up and do remember whatever you put on internet is "There FOREVER" , even if you have deleted it. Do share if you have any other tips/ learnings. Let's make each other aware. Lots of Love,
