Hey, I thought I'd make today's #LiveChat on #ToddlerDramas more personal by talking about some of the challenges I faced with my Drama Queen :) Believe me, every milestone, every new thing we did had a big drama attached to it. Was it because she is a single child, or because we are older parents, or because we live in Goa and work from home and have given her A LOT OF ATTENTION.... I have no clue!
Aarini has always been very social. So everyone told me playschool would be a breeze for her! I thought so too, but boy was I wrong! The first day parents were allowed in the class and got to play ball with the kids etc. Aarini was superb - very social, very co-operative, listened to the teachers.
But the next day when they said parents not allowed, man did she kick up a fuss! She howled, she didn't leave me. She kicked and punched the franchise owner (hey bhagwan!). Finally they let me in for a bit. And then I said I'm sitting out for the rest of the time. This carried on for a week. Actually two. I would sit outside of class in the reception area and while marching into class she would give me a reader's digest and say, "Mamma you read, I go play". I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
After 2 weeks, I got a bit smart. I would listen to her. Sit there for 5-7 mins, then run away home! I would come a bit early to pick her up - wait in the reception before all other parents came so it looked like I was sitting there all the while.
Once the kids were in a class that has windows towards the entrance. So I covered my head with her raincoat to hide myself. It was so funny all the teachers burst out laughing. I'm sure in her heart my childoo knew I ran away and would come back, but she liked playing along so I did for a couple of weeks.
Then she finally accepted the fact that mamma needs to go back. We did some playdates with her classmates so she was okay to let go of me. Infact sometimes my hubby would go to pick her up and not me!
It takes time, but they do grow out of the stubbornness. It seems forever, but trust me, whenever you are going through a toddler drama, remember, this too shall pass.
This is ini when she was #thethreeyearold walking out of playschool with her two friends. She is the monkey in the middle :)
Ping me if you're having playschool or school adjustment issues. Or just share your story!

All the three kids look so adorable together... I too was a drama queen when I joined school... I had a teacher whom we called Dutta mam... whenever I saw her I started crying out loud. And my mom...she made her my private tutor just to take my fear out... and later she became my second mom... unfortunately I lost her very early... she expired due to heart attack in school only. :-(

I also faced the same issues...when my girl started her school....I stood there almost 2-3 weeks....Sometimes school allowed me to watch her activities on cameras...💖💖 .. School not allowed to sit inside... So I wait 4 her outside....I never go away for a minute....After 15 -20 days.... I understand my girl... can handle school without me😂😂😂😂😂 Last one week I was the only one...who stood outside school.... Teacher's told me she is fine mam u can go... But I always told them..nope I m here for my girl....😁😁( Mumma dhere dhere sikhti h....)😂😂😂😂😂 That was very difficult for me.... My husband always laughed on me nd said....( Kya tum yashi k bina 3 hours reh sakogi...🙈🙈🙈🙈)Very difficult...😂😂😂 But that a lovely time I must say...when ur kid start their journey towards education meet new people make new friends...nd tell u new story everyday about their friends, teachers .😀😀 Awesome feeling. ..
