Pregnancy comes with the happiness and joy of having a baby, but also brings along a lot of side affects. Constipation, indigestion, gastric bloating and heart burn being the most commonly experienced ones. I had a constipation free pregnancy, yes I suffered for a few weeks initially. A proper diet and lots of water, should help and you can actually enjoy a constipation free pregnancy. Don't shy away from belching or burping, it's ok your pregnant, take the liberty. 😉😉
I'm sharing few quick tips and home remedies to deal with constipation which are absolutely safe. Yes!! I hear a lot of people often saying, "it causes heat don't eat." Let me remind you anything in moderation is good, even the regular milk, jeera, haldi and lot of other foods cause heat so, chuck the notions and eat on moderation and stay healthy.;
1. Include a fibre rich diet. For that you can include the following in your daily diet . Fruits - Banana, oranges, apples, mangoes, strawberry, raspberry. Vegetables - spinach, Swiss chard, broccoli, greens, sweet potatoes, kidney beans , peas, lentils, Breads and grains - whole wheat bread, whole wheat, brown rice, barley. Cereals Nuts - all the nuts are absolutely good to have.;
2. Mint tea - boil a few mint or pudina leaves in water. Simmer for about 5-10 mins. Strain, add honey and drink warm.
3. Include jeera, ajwain or snauf after every meal. A warm cup of jeera water on empty stomach makes a lot of difference.;
4. A min of 5-10 min walk after every meal. Make it a habit.;
5. Ensure to drink a lot of water.; Also make sure you meal is not too hard. What I mean to say is your meal should more juicy. Include gravies, rasam, daals, soups in your diet. A dry meal takes longer to digest in comparison to a meal that is soupy.
6. Never lie down after a meal. Avoid citrus fruits immediately after a meal and before bed.;
7. Smaller meals, multiple times makes it easy for digestion as well and reduces risk of developing diabetes or gestational diabetes.;
8. Incase of uneasiness apply some castor oil on your tummy around the navel. Do not apply pressure and do not massage. Just slight movements in anticlockwise direction.;
Hope this post helps and you too enjoy a constipation free pregnancy. Take care.;
