I am not very fond of going out to have splashed by colorful water balloons. Right from my childhood days, our family celebrates Holi in a minimalist and eco-friendly way.
.
As a so called family tradition, we just apply some gulaal to each other, do a pooja and relish savories. In the evening we go for a temple pooja. We do not believe in splashing in pools of water because we are aware of parched regions and of people dying of thirst.
.
However this year we took this celebration to a different level. We wanted to introduce colors to my little one and what else can be a fun day?
.
So we gave him a pool filled with colorful toys and it was fun to watch him sort colors. All the toys in the tub are the hands down version of my childhood days. Yes that crane in the picture, that flying dish, those water toys and every single thing belong to my or my sister's childhood days!
.
I celebrated my Holi with my little one in a unique, minimalist and eco-friendly way! What was your unique way to celebrate the day?
