We fight. Every single moment of our lives we are fighting something. On a macro scale we fight the society, the corrupt system, the crime, the grime, the evil that surrounds us everywhere. We fight with our friends, family, colleagues, neighbours. And now thanks to social media there is no dearth of opportunities to pick up fights with a completely random stranger. But have you ever given a thought on how much we are fighting with ourselves?
There is so much resistance from within us. A resistance to change. A resistance to express our thoughts , our desires to the ones closest to us. A resistance to speak what we truly believe. A resistance to remain silent if we choose to. A resistance to just be. A resistance to show our true beauty. A resistance to reveal our inner self.
And something that bothers me a lot. Especially with married women. A huge resistance to express our sexuality. After we become mothers we forget that we are also sexual beings by nature. Humans are one of the few lucky species to have sex not just for procreation but also recreation.
What are we scared of? The people around us? Maybe. The society in general? Maybe. The confrontations that could happen due to uncomfortable conversations? Maybe.
But what a lot of us don't realize is that we are probably scared the most of our own self. We are so afraid of seeing what we would be like if we achieved our true potential that we just choose to be in a shell.
Have you given a thought to how it would be if you decided to do what you really really wanted? What is it that you truly desire. A desire so strong that it could burn a hole on paper if it were a light beam. A desire so powerful that it would force the next person to sit up and notice when you walk in to the room.
It could be anything. You want to dance? You want to be a teacher? You want to run your own parlour? You want to be an engineer? You want to study further?
Or you want to be a stay at home mom?
Think about it. Write about it. Speak about it. Don't let the fire within you die.
Whatever you choose to be, take pride in it. There is no shame in choosing the life YOU want to lead.
And if you think you are happy not doing anything, please be in that state by all means. You are one lucky person if you can attain bliss by just being! We are bombarded so much by activity or wanting to be in a constant state of activity in the current age of social media that it is hard to accept that you can be happy not doing anything.
But no matter what you decide, don't let that spark within you die. You are so much more than you realise. You can do so much more than you think you are capable of.
We are all goddesses. We are the nurturers. We give birth. We give life. Our wombs carry generations and generations of wealth within. The wealth of providing mankind with the flame of conscious existence.
Don't ever doubt your self worth.
I went through a nasty phase of questioning my self esteem and realised what a pile of bollocks it was to doubt my capabilities. Shed your inhibitions and let that inner light within you shine. And if you are ever scared of all the newness you start experiencing once you embark on this amazing journey of self discovery just look into the mirror and smile at the diva looking at you. When chaos surrounds you find your silence within. When silence surrounds you accept the chaos within. Name of asana: Kaliasana/ Goddess Pose/ Wide legged squat. Very beneficial during pregnancy. It strengthens the lower back, the pelvic floor, the hips, the quads and the core. It gives you a sense of balance and helps to increase your chances of natural delivery. Remember to keep your spine neutral. There should be no pain in the knees. If the hips are not flexible yet, reduce the distance between the feet and don't sit this low. The knees should not move beyond your toes.
