#WeaningStory So my childoo has always been a Drama Queen (DQ). Every milestone has been a big deal with her and a huge amount of effort for my hubby and me - phew! The most tough one of course was getting her weaned off breast feed. I had decided I really need to do this before her 2nd b'day. So when she was about 21 months old we started the process (I think - can't really remember now that she is 9.5 yrs old!) She was already drinking other stuff out of a sippy cup but i had to introduce her to the bottle since she wouldn't drink regular milk (there was also a constipation issue when she was one so we stopped top milk for her). But that wasn't the end of it. Every night at sleep time when she would cry for her doo doo business I would give her a bottle and we would take her out for a car ride. We thought the car ride would calm her down and she would fall asleep. Would work most times - at least it would calm her down. But then she would wake up in the middle of the night and say CAR! Holy smokes, believe it or not, both of us sleepy parents would scramble out of bed, make a bottle and drive till Miramar Beach Circle! We have seen our part of Goa AT ALL POSSIBLE TIMES OF THE NIGHT!!! Not fun, trust me. The details are blurry now (thank god!) but I finally managed to wean her off my breast when she was 22.5 months old. That was such a relief and achievement - I thought I would celebrate with tequila shots - but I didn't. I just tried to reclaim my body :))))) Was your weaning off from the breast story just as overwhelming? Pls share some ideas/tips so other parents don't have to drive around town like maniacs like you know who :) ps: the photo below was taken on her 2nd b'day. My DQ looks as happy as I felt since I managed to wean her off breast milk!

I didn't have a tough time weaning my little one. fed her till she was 2.4 yrs. gradually after her dinner.. she used to play. few days when I was at moms place and held up.. she used to play by herself n fall asleep. henceforth I followed that. Wasn't a major problem as I heard frm many friends of mine who had to leave their kids behind at moms place or ask hubby to put them to slp. the best part is my lil one even today sleeps only on my lap in the same posture. the body touch gives her the warmth and puts her to sleep instantly
