Dr Pooja

Hey mom to be , An incompetent cervix, also called a cervical insufficiency, occurs when weak cervical tissue causes or contributes to premature birth or the loss of an otherwise healthy pregnancy. Before pregnancy, your cervix — the lower part of the uterus that opens to the vagina — is normally closed and firm. The most common treatment for incompetent cervix is a procedure called a cerclage. Your doctor will sew a stitch around the weakened cervix to make it stronger. This reinforcement may help your pregnancy last longer. Doctors usually perform a cerclage at 12 to 14 weeks of pregnancy. .Also your baby is safe dont worry
