Hand-foot-and-mouth disease, or HFMD, is caused by a virus. Symptoms include ulcers, or sores, inside or around the mouth, and a rashor blisters on the hands, feet, legs, or buttocks. And while it's not pleasant, it also isn't serious. Anyone can get the disease, but children under age 10 are most likely to catch.
❇️Cause :-
Viruses in the enterovirus category usually cause HFMD. Coxsackieviruses are the most common type of enterovirus linked to HFMD, especially coxsackievirus A16. Enterovirus 71 is also a common cause. These viruses normally spread via the mouth and anus and are usually found in the saliva, mucus, feces, and blister fluid of a person with HFMD. Common methods of passing on the virus include:-
1️⃣close, personal contact with an infected person 2️⃣coughing and sneezing 3️⃣touching contaminated objects

As its name suggests, hand, foot and mouth disease can affect these three locations on the body and may cause the following symptoms:-
1️⃣Mild fever 2️⃣Sore throat; 3️⃣Painful mouth sores that usually begin as flat red spots, then may blister; andA rash of flat red spots that may blister on the palms of the hands,back side of hand and soles of the feet.;
🔶Treatment🔶 There's no specific treatment for hand-foot-and-mouth disease. Signs and symptoms of hand-foot-and-mouth disease usually clear up in seven to 10 days.

Certain foods and beverages may irritate blisters on the tongue or in the mouth or throat. Try these tips to help :-
1️⃣Suck on ice pops or ice chips., 2️⃣Eat ice cream or sherbet. 3️⃣Drink cold beverages, such as milk or ice water. 4️⃣Avoid acidic foods and beverages, such as citrus fruits, fruit drinks and soda. 5️⃣Avoid salty or spicy foods.
To relieve mouth sores, avoid giving a child regular mouthwash, which may sting. Instead, a pediatrician may recommend a mouth rinse or spray to reduce pain.
