What is this AFI thing (Aminiotic fluid)? I saw few questions regarding this in baby chakra and they have mentioned IUGR. Does drinking enough water plays important role? or it's something related to feotus abnormalities? Kindly clear my doubt.

no.read my answer again. fetal urine is main source for am fluid production.
low afi has many important n more serious causes.
low fluid intake to the point of dehydration is a risk fr many other things other than a low afi.
IUGR is intrauterine growth restriction. It is a condition in which the unborn baby is smaller than it should be because it is not growing at a normal rate inside the womb.

amniotic fluid is the fluid surrounding the baby in the sac.
it plays a very crucial role in fetal development.
second trimester onwards its main source is fetal urine, and is removed by fetal swallowing. other parts such as maternal blood, placenta, skin, lungs etc also play smaller roles.
any abn of these structures will cause imbalance of fluid.
