the logic is the body is weak after ur delivery.. the hormones are all over the place and ur body is not at its peak. therr are chances of u getting sick or infections. so just as a precautionary we are asked to cover the head.

just be comfortable.... the only logic is that if the mother gets ill, the baby will immediately contract it. just go on with ur normal routine life and stay healthy.... that's it.

I never  covered myself or my little Princess. She was born in  March and  Kerala is extremely humid. 

thanks for the tag Priya Sood,I never followed this ritual though it was strictly recommend by all my visitors at hospital,coz I felt it suffocating.<br> &nbsp; I feel the logic behind this is simple...after delivery our bodies are very weak and due to low immunity we are more likely to catch cold n cough&nbsp; which is not good for the stitches in both types of deliveries.hence it's being followed to keep us warm.and the rest is just myth.
